The store, like most others is color-coded and they offer discounts daily, depending on a daily color coded discount system. Shoppers can receive from 30% to 50% off select purchases. Customers complain that they aren’t able to try on clothes before they buy them, however, the store offers a store credit to all returned clothing.

Kohl's donates $200,000 to tornado relief efforts

ATLANTA -- Kohl's Department Stores has announced a $200,000 cash donation in response to severe weather and tornadoes that caused widespread damage across the Midwest and Southeast.

The money will go to the American Red Cross, which is delivering much-needed emergency assistance throughout the affected areas.

"The destruction caused by the most recent severe weather in the Midwest and Southern regions is devastating and our thoughts are with those affected," said Julie Gardner, Kohl's executive vice president and chief marketing officer. "At such a difficult time, we are grateful to be in a position to give this financial donation to aid in the relief and rebuilding efforts.

Kohl's debuts remodeled store in Hiram

HIRAM, Ga. -- The Kohl's in Hiram (5220 Jimmy Lee Smith Parkway) will debut its renovations this week.

The new and improved location will reopen to the public on Friday, Mar. 25.

As a company, Kohl's has launched a major investment in its existing store base, which gives repeat customers a fresh shopping experience.

This year, Kohl's will remodel approximately 100 stores nationwide -- an 18 percent increase from 2010.

Store enhancements include:

* Redesigned departments (Home, Juniors', Children's, Jewelry, Shoes)
* Updated fitting rooms
* New merchandise displays to highlight trends
* Renovated customer service desk, check-out stations and restrooms

Nominate an Outstanding Kid for Kohl's Cares Scholarship

ATLANTA -- Every year, the Kohl's Corporation make an effort to recognize young people who give their time and talent to help others.

The Kohl's Cares Scholarship Program rewards volunteers ages six to 18 who work hard to invest in the futures of their communities.

This year, the company plans to honor more than 2,100 kids nationwide on the store, regional and national levels.

Dallas Farmers Market Returns

DALLAS, GA -- The Dallas Farmers Market will return on Saturday, Mar. 5.

The market is located in downtown Dallas in the parking lot of Georgia Highlands College (25 Courthouse Square, 30132) and is open on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon.

Fresh local produce is available for purchase, straight from the farm to the consumer. There is something to please every palate: meat, eggs, fresh artisan bread, honey and jam, pesto, salsa, cheese, herbs, flavored popcorn, baked goods and, of course, fruits and vegetables.

The farmers are also on-hand on market days to talk about their wares and offer gardening advice. Many vendors do not use artificial fertilizers, herbicides or pesticides.

The market is always looking for new sellers. A vendor meeting will take place on Saturday, Feb.

ATLANTA -- "Atlanta's Biggest Loser" is now accepting entries for contestants for the show's fifth edition.

Like its national cousin, this season of "Atlanta's Biggest Loser" is a couples' edition. Any kind of couple can apply -- siblings, parent/child, co-workers, friends and every pairing in between.

The deadline to apply is noon on Friday, Feb. 18 at www.atlbiggestloser.com.

"Atlanta's Biggest Loser" will officially begin on Monday, Mar. 7. Six teams of two will work with one of 11Alive's two fitness partners, D.R.E.A.M.

Mail Service Improves for North Georgia

ATLANTA -- The U.S. Postal Service reports that nearly 100% of North Georgia residents received their mail over the past several days.

This is in spite of some of the most challenging weather conditions to impact the region in over a decade.

"Thanks to the many hardworking and dedicated employees, and with some cooperation from the weather, we were able to make more than 99% of all deliveries in ZIP Codes 300, 301, 302, 303, 305 and 306 over the past several days," said Atlanta district manager Kate F. Wiley. "There are some isolated areas where ice has not melted sufficiently to make it safe for delivery employees, so we have not been able to reach everyone. However, those locations are very few, and that situation is improving each day."

Wiley says to help get delivery options back on track, Postal personnel are making deliveries throughout Metro Atlanta on Monday, Jan.
