DALLAS, Ga. -- Lady Luck has dropped the gavel on a retired court clerk.

Patricia Cordell, 56, won $50,000 playing the Georgia Lottery instant game Super Millions.

"Oh man, I was excited," she said when asked about her win.

Hiram Food & Fuel on Jimmy Lee Smith Parkway sold the lucky ticket.

Cordell, who lives in Dallas, retired from the Cobb County Clerk of Superior Court's office as chief deputy clerk. She described winning the lottery as "wonderful."

"I'm going to share it with my sister and nephew, pay a few things, and the rest is going in the bank for a rainy day," she said.
