Suspect arrested in connection to homicide at Paulding Co. home | News
DALLAS, Ga. — A suspect is behind bars at the Paulding County jail in connection to a homicide investigation, after a man's body was found inside a Hiram Sudie Road home.
Sheriff officials announced the arrest Sunday.
Authorities have charged 25-year-old Matt Ryan Love with felony murder and say more charges could be pending. Love is being held without bond.
The arrest comes after a resident at the Paulding County home discovered the man's body Saturday morning around 11 a.m. and called 911. According to authorities, five other people, including Love, were inside the home when the caller found the victim.
Detectives spent Saturday interviewing all five occupants at the Sheriff's Office to determine the events that led up to the man's death. Officials confirmed that some of them lived at the home and others were just visiting. Sheriff's deputies said the deceased man did not live at the house.
According to authorities, this is not the first time law enforcement has been called out to the home; responders have been there before for drug-related calls.
“There is a history of narcotics activity and other illicit activity at this residence," said Paulding County Sheriff spokesman Sgt. Ashley Henson. "That’s obviously something we’re looking into. We do have a lot of things that have been going on at this residence so there’s a lot of things to definitely look into.”
Authorities have not yet released the cause of death for the victim. Detectives are still waiting to release the his name until the GBI Crime Lab is able to confirm his identity.
