ACWORTH, Ga. – This week, Dinners on a Dime features favorite affordable, neighborhoods eats. Every Tuesday Where U Live will choose four favorite eats in your area for you to take your family and friends for a fabulous meal, under $20.

Bring the entire family to Miss L’s Sandwich Shop for a handcrafted sandwich of your choice.  The shop is situated in historic downtown Acworth and has been there since 2001. Miss L’s only uses Boar’s Head meats and cheeses; they also serve soups, cookies, cakes and ice cream. The restaurant’s menu includes 24 sandwiches but owner Karen Littlefield says, the most popular is the Chicken Ruben served on marble rye. Every sandwich is served with a salad and a pickle for $7.75; all menu items cost less than $10. Miss L’s Sandwich Shop is located at 4817 South Main Street in Acworth.

'Relive the Passover Exodus' at Chabad Jewish Center

KENNESAW, Ga. -- Jewish community members of Cobb, Cherokee and Paulding are invited to participate in Chabad Jewish Center's community Seder on Monday, Apr. 18.

All Jewish residents, regardless of affiliation or background, are encouraged to join an evening that will include the reading of the Four Questions, traditional handmade Matzah, the Four Cups of wine or grape juice and a delicious Kosher meal.

Chabad Rabbi Zalman Charytan and his wife Nechami will facilitate the inter-generational program.

"This Seder is an opportune time to bring unity to the community and just get together to enjoy each others' company," said Rabbi Charytan. "It's the Seder that has kept families together for thousands of years."

The Apr. 18 Seder will begin at 7:30 p.m. at Chabad Jewish Center (1635 Old U.S. Highway 41, Kennesaw, 30152).

Paulding County gearing up for Family Cyber Summit

DALLAS, Ga. -- Do you and your children have cell phones and/or smart phones?

Do you and your children use social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter?

If the answer to either of these questions is yes, the Paulding County Sheriff's Office has a special message.

Officers are gearing up for the third annual Family Cyber Summit, an outreach designed to educate the community about the potential dangers that children and teenagers may encounter on the Internet, including while using phones with Internet access.

"Children usually do not realize that they are being victimized unitl it is too late," said Paulding County Sheriff Gary Gulledge. "Parents oftentimes do not understand the technology being used by their children and the potential danger if it is used irresponsibly."

The event will be on Tuesday, Apr. 26 at 7 p.m.

KENNESAW, Ga. -- Amateur athletes of every age, ability and passion can compete for medals again this year at the 2011 Georgia Games.

This year's edition of the state's largest multi-sport event will take place on various weekends throughout the summer.

Online registration is currently open for all 48 sports, listed below.

More than 8,000 athletes from 500 Georgia cities and town competed in the 2010 Games. The event is staffed by over 1,000 volunteers, who can also register online to help.

The Georgia Games is a festival for state citizens of all ages and athletic abilities, including physically disabled and Paralympic athletes.

Are you ready for the NEW March Madness?

DALLAS, Ga. -- Forget basketball. In Paulding County, March Madness is all about baseball.

The New Georgia Youth Athletic Association will hold its 2011 "March Madness" season opener from Friday, Mar. 11 through Sunday, Mar. 13 at its New Georgia Baseball Complex (5885 Villa Rica Highway, Dallas, 30157).

The USSSA-sanctioned March Madness is designed to be a prelude to the spring baseball season. The facility features everything a youth team could ask for, including real pitching mounds and grass infields, two batting cages and plenty of open space for players to warm up.

Go fly a kite

DALLAS, Ga. -- Get a jump start on spring activities this weekend by flying kites with your friends and neighbors.

The Family Fun Flyers kite flying extravaganza will be on Saturday, Mar. 12 at White Oak Park (298 Mustang Drive, Dallas, 30132).

Sign-in begins at 12:30 p.m., with the actual event scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m.

Fantastic prizes will be awarded to the oldest flyer, youngest flyer, highest flyer and most unique kite, so pray for wind and get ready for the weekend.
