CANTON, Ga. -- For this week’s installment of Best Spots, we've compiled a list of the best summer camps for your children, this year.

YMCA Centers are the nation’s largest provider of child care services and there are a number of YMCA centers around the metro area. According to their website, YMCA’s provide “family-centered, values-based programs” and they support the “physical, intellectual, emotional and social development of children”. Camp charges vary depending on if membership. Check them out online and find your neighborhood center.

Camp Twin Lakes is a network of camps around North Georgia that “provides life-changing camp programs for kids with serious illnesses, disabilities and other challenges and various state-of-the-art locations throughout the state”. The camp has a number of metro Atlanta locations. They have a location in Decatur and in Rutledge. For more information on how to get your child involved visit them on the web.

The Cobb County Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department offers a “variety of summer activities for youth”. Youth can choose between the arts, sports or a camp where they can just have fun. Check them out at online.

Imagine This offers summer camps at many locations around Atlanta. They offer a couple of different types of camps like: science camp, robotics camps, art camps and combination camps. The camp, previously, was attended by about 1700 children aged 3-14 years old. The camps are pretty affordable. Check them out online.

Aspiring athletes are all rushing to Elite Hoops Basketball camps around the city. The Elite Hoops will be directing NIKE Basketball Camps across the southeast for players entering grades 3-10. All camps are put through about two hours of Skill Development, 5-on-5 and 3-on-3 games. The Elite Hoops website lists a number of basketball camps in the metro area.
