Online Child Porn Collector Convicted

DALLAS, GA -- On Thursday, Oct. 14, Christopher Scott Rabideau, 51, of Dallas was convicted in a Paulding County courtroom for Sexual Exploitation of Children.

The investigation revealed numerous videos of child pornography. Rabideau was sentenced to 15 years for the crime.

In May 2010, Detective Lenny Carr and Sergeant Kevin Morgan of the Paulding County Sheriff's Office Crimes Against Children (CAC) unit served a search warrant on Rabideau's residence in reference to an online investigation into the possession and distribution of online child pornography.

Rabideau was arrested and has been detained at the Paulding County Detention Center since the time of his arrest. The evidence against him includes 37 videos (over six gigabytes) of child pornography. Some of the videos included children believed to be as young as six years old.

Paulding County Police Need Your Help

VILLA RICA, GA -- The Paulding County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in identifying the suspect and vehicle used in a recently burglary and attempted ATM theft at the Dallas Pantry (8064 Villa Rica Highway, Villa Rica, 30180).

The theft occured around 2:00 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 15. The vehicle in question is described as a full-size gray, silver or light-colored Dodge van with some sort of writing that resembles the markings of a company, church or day care center van on the passenger side.

The suspect can be seen in surveillance footage inside the store; he is wearing dark clothing.

Security tapes show the suspect's vehicle backing into the front doors of the store. The suspect exited the back of the van and tied some sort of strap around the ATM inside the store.

Dallas Man Arrested for Sexual Exploitation

DALLAS, GA -- On Thursday, Oct. 14, the Paulding County Sheriff's Office Crimes Against Children (CAC) unit served a search warrant at a home in Dallas and arrested its owner, 54-year-old Ivan Duane Miller.

The warrant was part of an ongoing investigation. Miller was charged with violating the Computer or Electronic Pornography and Child Exploitation Prevention Act of 2007.

The CAC unit was contacted by the Idaho Falls Police Department in reference to a complaint they had received from the parents of a 14-year-old female. The parents reported that the suspect in the case was having conversations with their daughter that were sexual in nature. The investigation revealed that the suspect lived in Dallas, Georgia.

During the search of Miller's home, computers and other electronic devices were taken for examination.

Villa Rica Man Arrested for Sexual Exploitation of a Child

VILLA RICA, GA -- Detectives from the Cobb County Police Department's Crimes Against Children Unit have investigated and arrested an individual for sexual exploitation of a child.

According to investigators, they arrested the 20-year-old man in west Cobb County when he thought that he was meeting a 14-year-old female, with whom he'd been communicating on the Internet, for the purpose of having sexual intercourse with her.

Detectives have charged Matthew Day Cauthen of Villa Rica with sexual exploitation of a child. He has been processed through the Cobb County Adult Detention Center on $35,000 bond.

Investigators are interested in talking with anyone who has corresponded in the past with an individual with the screen name MDcauthen911. Mr.

Paulding County Middle School Burglarized

DALLAS, GA -- The Paulding County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in identifying the subject in a burglary that occurred at Moses Middle School (1066 Old County Farm Road, Dallas, 30132) on Saturday, Sept. 25.

The suspect could possibly be Hispanic, a dark complexion white male or a light complexion black male. Over $10,000 worth of electronics and other property was stolen from inside the school.

The Paulding County Sheriff's Office responded to the school on Monday, Sept. 27 after school administrators found signs of the burglary. Security tapes showed the suspect moving throughout the school and removing various items.

Convicted Sex Offender Sentenced

PAULDING COUNTY, GA -- On Sept. 27, Tommy Lee Strozier, 53, was convicted in a Paulding County courtroom for rape, sexual battery, aggravated sodomy, two counts of aggravated child molestation and incest involving his biological daughter.

Strozier was sentenced on Sept. 28 to life plus 20 years in prison for his conviction on all of these charges.

In March 2009, a family member of Strozier made contact with Det. Lynn Deaver of the Paulding County Sheriff's Office Crimes Against Children (CAC) unit and advised her of allegations made by Strozier's daughter. The victim was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center and examined.

The case was investigated by the CAC unit. It was determined that the abuse began when the victim was five years old and had been going on for nine years.

"Being assigned to this unit can become emotionally draining because of the types of cases that we are constantly facing," said Lt.

Child Pornography Arrest in Paulding County

ACWORTH, GA -- On Sept. 16, Richard Gibson, a 61-year-old resident of Acworth, turned himself in to the Paulding County Detention Center.

Gibson is charged with 20 counts of sexual exploitation of children for possessing and distributing child pornography. He was held without bond.

Detectives with the Paulding County Sheriff's Office Crimes Against Children unit served a search warrant of the suspect's home on Aug. 19 as the result of a cyber tip received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Several computers and other electronic items with digital storage capacity were seized during the search. Detectives found 169 images of known or suspected child pornography on those computers. At least 20 of the images were of children approximately 12 years of age or younger.
