Dallas Man Arrested for Child Pornography

DALLAS, GA -- The Paulding County Sheriff's Office arrested a Dallas man after a search warrant at his home led to the discovery of child pornography.

Allan John Chase, 53, has been charged with two counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor and is being held at the Paulding County Detention Center without bond.

During the search of Chase's house on Tuesday, Jan. 4, police found two computers with several videos of known or suspected child pornography. The videos featured children believed to be between the ages of five and 15; some of them were performing acts of bondage and bestiality.

ATLANTA -- On Monday, Jan. 24, Michael William Ledford will appeal his conviction and death sentence for the murder of Jennifer Ewing, who was attacked and killed while biking along the Silver Comet Trail.

According to evidence presented at the trial in this high-profile case, on the morning of July 25, 2006, Ewing, 53, spoke to her daughter and son before leaving their house for her normal 25-mile bike ride along the trail.

When she did not return by dinnertime, Ewing's husband and two sons went to the trail to look for her. After finding her locked van, her husband called police.

A search party of about 100 people began combing the Cobb County portion of the trail. The next day, Paulding County police located her bike shorts near mile marker 17.

Paulding County Police Make Child Pornography Arrest

DALLAS, GA -- On Tuesday, Jan. 4, Scott Michael Teague, 34, of Dallas was arrested after police discovered child pornography on his home computer.

Police served a search warrant at the suspect's house and took a number of items, including several digital storage devices. During the search, detectives uncovered more than 1,400 images of child pornography involving children who appeared to range in age from two to 15.

Police are still processing evidence and expect to discover even more images.

Teague has been charged with 102 counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor. He is currently being held without bond in the Paulding County Jail.

Rockmart Teen Fatally Shot, Suspect Arrested

ROCKMART, GA -- Police in northwest Georgia are currently investigating the New Year's Day shooting death of a Rockmart teenager.

Officers responding to a call of shots fired found Rodney Arzez Mitchell Jr., 16, lying in the street around 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, Jan 1.

Mitchell was taken to Floyd Medical Center in Rome, where he was pronounced deceased at 11:15 a.m. His body was sent to the GBI Crime Lab for an autopsy.

Police subsequently arrested Jermaine Deon Ware, 34, in connection with the case. Rockmart Police Chief Keith Sorrells says that the two men knew each other.

Police Solve Multiple Residential Burglaries

WOODSTOCK, GA -- Woodstock Police investigators have solved three unrelated burglaries and one theft case that occurred in October and November. As a result, arrest warrants have been issued for two individuals, and two others were arrested.

Nov. 18: Investigators issued a warrant for the arrest of Paul Joseph Burns, 38, of Dallas, charging him with burglary. A resident of Finsbury Lane in Woodstock came home on Oct. 26 after a three-month vacation and found that his house had been burglarized. Two pistols, an Apple iPhone, firearm cleaning supplies, holsters and a jug containing a coin collection were all missing. Using pawn records, investigators recovered the firearms and returned them to the victim.

On the same day, investigators also issued a warrant for Micah Paul Truitt, 24, of Woodstock, charging him with theft by taking after he stole $200 from a cash register at the Climatized Self Storage on Sycamore Lane, where he was employed.

Dallas Man Charged with Furnishing Obscene Materials to Minor

DALLAS, GA -- On Tuesday, Nov. 9, Clarence Anthony "Tony" Harper, 43, of Dallas was arrested and charged with one count of Electronically Furnishing Obscene Materials to a Minor and one count of Computer or Electronic Pornography after an ongoing investigation by the Paulding County Sheriff's Office Crimes Against Children (CAC) unit.

Harper was later released on $6,800 bond.

The Paulding County Sheriff's Office CAC unit received a complaint on Wednesday, Oct. 27 that a suspect sent a semi-nude image of his wife via text message to a 14-year-old male. Detectives found probable cause to arrest the suspect as a result of their investigation. Harper turned himself in to authorities.
