Suspects nabbed in multiple Cobb robberies

MARIETTA, Ga. -- Cobb County police have arrested two men in connection with at least two fast food restaurant robberies and a home break-in.

Rodney B. Lofton, 21, of Marietta and Deontae Conway, 18, of Dallas are believed to be the men behind a Burger King robbery in Marietta on Aug. 12 and a Zaxby's robbery in Mableton on Aug. 9.

Cobb police also think the two men were behind a recent home burglary on Barrett Parkway.

Lofton and Conway were captured Friday evening when police say they attempted to rob the Captain D's restaurant at 3439 South Cobb Drive in Smyrna. A Cobb police officer found the suspects in a stolen silver 2005 Chevrolet Suburban.

When the officer attempted to pull over the car, the suspects drove off. They later crashed the car and tried to run away, but police managed to catch them.

Both men were processed without bond at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center.
