DALLAS, Ga. -- Local Nashville recording artist Kevin Harry will celebrate the release of his CD Hold On Today at the Dallas Theatre.

Harry, a gospel and contemporary Christian singer, began his career on the stage of the Dallas Theatre. Join him and the Steadfast Quartet at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 17 for an evening of uplifting music, stories and praise.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children and students. They can be purchased at the Dallas Theatre's box office or the Paulding Chamber of Commerce.

The Dallas Theatre is located at 208 Main Street.

LOCAL PROFILE: Steve Stoute, founder of Transition

ATLANTA, Ga. -- Recently, Steve Stoute stopped by Spelman College to chat about his revolutionary take on the marketing world and a concept he calls “tanning”. Stoute started off as a road manager for hip-hop group Kid 'n Play and has since founded his own marketing firm, helped coin the McDonald's theme song and created his own firm, Translation LLC.

He has consulted for many of the top names in the music business and, a number of Fortune 500 companies, and he stopped by Spelman College to spread the word about his new book, “The Tanning of America”, which explains his theory on the redefinition of marketing.

ASO to honor Metro Atlanta music teachers

ATLANTA -- The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra will hold an appreciation ceremony for more than 180 Atlanta-area music teachers Friday evening.

The teachers will be recognized at 7 p.m. by ASO president Stanley Romanstein. Afterward, the instructors will attend the evening's concert featuring the music of Rimsky-Korsakov, Rachmaninov and Mussorgsky.

ASO cellist Joel Dallow will also receive a special award from Romanstein for his arts education advocacy work throughout Georgia.

Both the 8 p.m. concert and the preceding reception will take place at the Woodruff Arts Center, 1280 Peachtree Street NE, Midtown.

Now, he's coming to Paulding County.

James Patterson will visit McClure Middle School in Dallas this Friday to tell stories, answer questions and sign copies of his popular books.

The school won the visit from Patterson after earning first place in the Scholastic Book Fairs National Middle School Student Crew Contest, a competition that encourages students to organize and run their own innovative and exciting book fairs.

This was McClure's third win in the nationwide contest, making it the only school in North America to earn three author visits.
