DALLAS, Ga. -- He holds the Guinness World Record for the most bestselling fiction titles. He has sold 230 million copies of his books worldwide.

Now, he's coming to Paulding County.

James Patterson will visit McClure Middle School in Dallas this Friday to tell stories, answer questions and sign copies of his popular books.

The school won the visit from Patterson after earning first place in the Scholastic Book Fairs National Middle School Student Crew Contest, a competition that encourages students to organize and run their own innovative and exciting book fairs.

This was McClure's third win in the nationwide contest, making it the only school in North America to earn three author visits. The Spring 2011 book fair's theme was "It's a Crime Not to Read," which transformed the McClure library into a crime scene with magnifying glasses, body outlines, crime scene tape and even an oversized cardboard cutout of Sherlock Holmes.

In addition to Patterson's visit, the school also won $2,000 in books and merchandise from Scholastic.

James Patterson has written books for both children and adults. He was nominated for a Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Award for his Witch & Wizard series in 2011 and receive the Children's Choice Book Award for Author of the Year in 2010. He also created a website, www.readkiddoread.com, to help parents find great books for their children and turn nonreaders into readers for life.
