East Paulding Faces Another Sub-Region Test

DALLAS, GA -- Region 5-4A North has five teams with a 5-3 record or better: Kell, Pope, Hiram, East Paulding, and North Paulding. In such a brutal sub-region, just about every game feels like the playoffs, according to East Paulding head coach John Reid, who has some knowledge on the situation. For the second week in a row, his Raiders play a 6-1 team.

Last week, East Paulding played Hiram, whose only loss was to Kell - kind of a shared experience among 5-4A North teams. At the time, East Paulding was coming off of a four-point loss to Sprayberry and needed a win to help keep their postseason hopes alive.

The Raiders got the win, beating Hiram 26-14. But they could not celebrate for long. "It was a good game for us," Reid said, "But we did not get much time to react."

Dallas Man Arrested for Sexual Exploitation

DALLAS, GA -- On Thursday, Oct. 14, the Paulding County Sheriff's Office Crimes Against Children (CAC) unit served a search warrant at a home in Dallas and arrested its owner, 54-year-old Ivan Duane Miller.

The warrant was part of an ongoing investigation. Miller was charged with violating the Computer or Electronic Pornography and Child Exploitation Prevention Act of 2007.

The CAC unit was contacted by the Idaho Falls Police Department in reference to a complaint they had received from the parents of a 14-year-old female. The parents reported that the suspect in the case was having conversations with their daughter that were sexual in nature. The investigation revealed that the suspect lived in Dallas, Georgia.

During the search of Miller's home, computers and other electronic devices were taken for examination.
